Get on the Road to Safety
The Queen Creek Fire Department, in conjunction with the Maricopa County Sheriff's Office, presents the "Get on the Road to Safety" celebration at Queen Creek Marketplace. The event will focus on educating the public on vehicle safety while offering fun family activities for the community. The event will run from 10 a.m. until 1 p.m. in the parking lot of the center and will feature displays and demonstrations from several Queen Creek public safety departments.
Using the Jaws of Life, the Queen Creek Fire Department will demonstrate the process of cutting passengers out of a vehicle damaged from a high-speed crash and treating them for life threatening injuries.
The Fire Department will demonstrate the process of extinguishing a car fire, live!
Community residents are invited to bring their collectible and historic cars to display at the no-host car show at the event. There will be no entry fee to display a car, and the first 200 cars on display will receive event goodie bags filled with great gifts. The car show will run from 9 a.m. until 2 p.m. with a manager’s choice award presented by the Marketplace Manager at 1 p.m.
Enjoy displays of antique fire trucks, antique police cars, an Air‑Evac helicopter, road equipment and Maricopa County Sheriff's Office vehicles. Learn how to properly install a car seat and the correct way to use a fire extinguisher through a state-of-the-art computerized demonstration. Enjoy food samples from the restaurants at Queen Creek Marketplace and browse displays from center retailers and other community businesses while visiting the event.

Just an FYI
Scott called me tonight and told me that there was a white male in his 20's that was murdered in Cambria this morning. He was shot in the face. It happened around 3-3:30am. They are still investigating the whole case so there isnt much more info I can give you but I wanted everyone to be aware and a little more careful. Lock your doors day and night, be aware of your surroundings, know where your kids are at all times. Dont freak out on me but I just wanted to get the word out to BE CAREFUL AND AWARE!!

Any cat lovers?
Roxy is a striped dark tabby. she is about 3 1/2 years old. She is current on shots, she is micro chipped, and she is spayed. She loves to play in the water and will sleep on your pillow occasionally and at the side of your bed most times. I adopted her the fall of 2006 from a wonderful loving home after losing our second child to a chromosome problem. I drove over two hours to go pick her up and have loved her every minute since then. She helped me tremendously through my mourning.
Dyna is a pure white cat that I adopted from a 'cat infested' home. She was overrun with ear mites and had no medical attention whatsoever. I healed her up and made her healthy. She is due for her next set of shots. She is also spayed and micro chipped. she is about 1 1/2 years old. I adopted her because my previous white cat had passed away from a type of cancer and Roxy was crying for weeks because Roxy didn't have her 'friend'. Both cats are tremendously wonderful with kids. Both cats have all their claws but have been indoor cats their entire lives. I request that they continue to be indoor cats for the sake of their safety and health. I am TRYING MY BEST to re-home them TOGETHER for FREE!. please contact me at karebear_f2@hotmail.com

Sleep a little better tonight.....
Pinal County Sheriff Chris Vazquez said Matthew Alan Clack, 24, was arrested by deputies after a 13-year-old victim from a July molestation and attempted kidnapping case recognized Clack at a Pecan Creek neighborhood park and yelled out "that’s him."
"When she did, several citizens went in a foot chase of him — chasing him in and around houses," he said. "They dialed 911 and after a very fast response time from deputies in that area, we were able to help the citizens to apprehend Clack."
Over the summer, a series of molestations and attempted kidnappings took place in the Castlegate and Pecan Creek neighborhoods in an unincorporated area east of Queen Creek.
"Ever since the initial incident happened in July the community has really been on alert," Vasquez said. "They can now, I believe, breathe a sigh of relief that a child predator is no longer roaming the streets."
Clack may be responsible for at least five attempted or actual molestations in the Johnson Ranch, Queen Creek and Mesa areas, Vasquez said.
"Based on our interview with him, he admitted that he does have a serious problem, and he admitted to as many as five attempts or actual molestations," he said.
Clack was booked into Pinal County Jail on felony charges of sexual assault and attempted kidnapping for the July case.
Dena Larsen, the blockwatch coordinator for Pecan Creek, said she got goose bumps when she heard about the arrest.
"The fact that there was an arrest made, solidified to me, that we do have dangerous things happening out there, and we can’t turn a blind eye," she said. "I’m glad there’s another person off the street that’s causing harm."
Larsen, a mother of two young girls, said she hopes some residents in the area see this as an "eye-opener" because she’s seen little supervision of children in the neighborhood.
"Parents need to look at what is lurking out there," she said. "There is a risk, and it’s right here in our own backyard."
Vasquez called this case "a prime example of a community working together with law enforcement" and said neighbors who helped catch Clack "should be proud of themselves."
Vasquez said his department, along with other agencies, are trying to track down others Clack may have attacked. Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Lisa Swinton at (520) 866-5149.

Any sewers out there?
I was just wondering if you could pass on this email to other sisters or perhaps just ask around if anyone would be willing to help a highschool girl make a prom dress. I work with her and she is not a member however she is having a hard time finding a dress and thought if she paid someone to make it she would be happier. She already has the pattern and has the material picked out. If you know of anyone who makes dresses please let me know:)

IntenSati-cant wait to try it!
A side note: I am not even one for DVD's, I would much rather take my 10 mile bike ride to workout-- but this DVD is sweet. Your mind will crave it! If you focus like it intends you to focus, you will feel, and release, and love, and intend, and become! I can't think of a better workout, than one that puts your mind and spirit into a peaceful state as you do. And I can't imagine anyone not loving this. I wake up every morning and can't wait to do it. Something helpful, if you have little kiddos, do it early morning, or after you put kids to bed - you need to be able to focus on it.
ENJOY!

Who knew that bread ties make a difference?
Monday= Blue, Tuesday = Green, Wednesday = no delivery, Thursday = Red, Friday = White, Saturday = Yellow. *yellow* So if today was Thursday, you would want red twist tie; not white which is Fridays (almost a week old)! The colors go alphabetically by color: Blue-Green- Red -White -Yellow- Monday through Saturday! Very easy to remember. I thought this was interesting. I looked in the grocery store and the bread wrappers DO have different twist ties, and even the ones with the plastic clips have different colors. You learn something new everyday! Enjoy fresh bread when you buy bread with the right color on the day you are shopping.

Great way to start the day!
Ever heard of the 'daily gems'? On lds.org you can sign up to receive daily emails (gems) with quotes & inspirational thoughts for your day. Click on www.lds.org , click on news and events, then click on free news, gems email subscription. It is super easy and a great way to start off the day!
Here is a great one from a recent email...."As we study and ponder, we are entitled to the promptings of theSpirit, and as we grow more attentive to these promptings, we come to recognize each day the workings of the Lord in our lives. We will find Him, as Elder Neal A. Maxwell stated, 'in the details of our lives'("Becoming a Disciple," Ensign, June 1996, 19). And when that recognition comes, we feel His peace and recognize that we are truly encircled in the arms of His love."

Seriously?
Since I posted my last post, I have talked to probably 7 or 8 people in the neighborhood who either read my post or heard about it and had something similar happen to them! Are you kidding me? What in the world is going on here? We have lived here for over 2 years and have NEVER had anything happen to us until now. Infact, I was just talking to JaNae today and she told me that they went for a walk for 20 minutes this past Saturday and came home to her big star on the front of her house GONE!!! PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE be more aware of your surroundings and who is around you. Not only for you but also for your neighbors. I am known as the 'Circle Watch' person because I am always looking out the window at what is going on in my frontyard as well as my neighbors. If I wake up in the middle of the night, I always look out the window and see if anything is going on. I just wanted everyone to know that the GRINCH is still around and to keep your eyes open!
